Since 2005, I have been involved in Housing related industries. In 2008 my career switched to combine higher-education and housing. This has allowed me to take a multifaceted approach towards creating an environment for success – in student development and community development.

Part of this approach included becoming a member of the Waterloo Region Record’s Community Editorial Board.

The relationships between higher education providers– specifically post-secondary institutions in Canada – and their host communities will often present a number of issues. The off-campus environment has opportunities for student housing, community involvement, economic development, and neighbourhood relations as a result of students moving into these post-secondary communities.

I’m an active communication professional with experience in marketing, public relations, research, community development, and internal communications. My overwhelming belief is that all communication boils down to one word – relationships.

I’ve spent time living throughout southern Ontario, but now made my home in the Waterloo Region. The community is amazing and I’m proud to call this area my home.
